No Gas For Two Months
I filled my car up with gas at the beginning of the school semester, so sometime around the first part of September. I haven't had to fill it again until today. I am pretty excited about the money-saving that is happening because of this, but also curious. See, I don't feel like I'm driving that much less than I did before I got married. I drive to school four days a week, to stores about once a week, and lately we've been driving my car to church too. Before I got married, I'd drive to school, albeit five instead of four days a week and I'd drive to Nick's from my house pretty much every day. But Nick only lives a few blocks away from where I was living- no more than a mile. So I am driving not much less (and to me it feels about equal to) than I was before yet I am really saving on gas!! In those two months I only drove 226 miles, therefore I got about 16 mpg, which is terrible. When I drive on the freeway or highway more, I can get 30 or more. But oh well. Still, buying gas once every two months isn't too shabby!!!

Oh Bridget!
My infamous niece Bridget has made me laugh, once again. We were visiting my family in Firth over the weekend and when I was saying goodbye to Bridget, she said something like, "you don't live by grandma anymore." I told her her that she should come see me in Montana. So she said she'd ask her mom if she could come visit me in Hannah Montana. She went to her mom, who was just across the table from me and said, "Can we go visit Tara in Hannah Montana?" Every time she asks where I live or me living in Montana comes up, she always calls it Hannah Montana. HOW CUTE!!! She's just the funniest girl.

Kids Say The Darndest Things
I was talking to my niece Bridget today. She is just over 3 1/2 years old, but talks like she's at least a few years older. She always asks me when I'm coming "home", as she did today. I was explaining to her that I was coming to Firth in a couple of weeks and before I could finish what I was saying, she said, OUT OF NOWHERE, "you should have a baby". I just started laughing. Then I told Nick. He was like, "what?" We've only been married not quite two months Bridget. Give us some time...

Today's Horoscope
Aquarius (1/20-2/18)
Better than anyone else right now, you understand the energy that a connection between two people can create. It's all about pairs -- group situations can be fun, but right now they're going to feel more strange than stimulating. What you really crave (and what you really need) is to spend time with just one other person. It can be your sweetie, a sibling, a friend, or even a stranger. But living your life as part of a pair today will be very rewarding and revealing.
I don't read my horoscope often, but I do find it entertaining. I just happen to see it today on my email homepage. I think it's sweet. I DO crave being with my new husband!!!

Wedding Pictures
I have finally gotten my wedding pictures. Right now I am going to post a few of the random shots my friends and family took. I will be adding more, including the professional pictures, in the near future.

I was pretty excited about this cake. It is an ice cream cake from Cold Stone. In Missoula, where we live, they make actual wedding cakes (stack them, decorate them like elaborate wedding cakes, etc). So I went into the Cold Stone in Idaho Falls to order a similar wedding cake and they did not do that kind of thing there. I had a minor mental breakdown, but someone (either Nick or my friend Jena) said we could do it ourselves. So I ordered the individual cakes in varying flavors and Jena stacked and decorated it. I think it turned out perfect. I was going for simple, and Jena hit the nail on the head. Thanks for your help and sanity!Obviously, we could not display this cake throughout the whole reception, so we just took it out for pictures and to serve and the end. Unfortunately, the only bite of my wedding cake I got was the one Nick gave me when we cut it. It went SUPER fast. It was supposed to serve 40-50 people and I don't think there were even than many people there at the time. But I think the pieces were probably cut bigger than the serving size would indicate AND I blame my piggy nieces and nephews for probably having more than one piece. Consequently, Nick is going to get me my own Cold Stone cake to make up for my inability to enjoy the wedding cake. Sweet guy, eh!!!!

This picture makes me laugh. We both look so ponderous, or confused. I'm not sure what's going on...

We tried to avoid the decorating of the car by parking it behind the church, about a mile away. So my nieces and nephews put crepe paper on Nick's sister and brother-in law's car that we rode to the reception in. However, Nick's parents brought the car to the house after the reception (much after, but most of my nieces and nephews were still there) and they got to the car after all.

Let Me See...
... if I can post some of our favorite engagement pictures. We took them in Glacier National Park, which is about 3 hours from Missoula and 30 minutes from Nick's parent's house in Columbia Falls, MT. Taking the pictures in a National Park was definitely right up my alley, and since Yellowstone wasn't a logistic possibility on our time schedule, Glacier worked out perfectly. It is a gorgeous park.

So I don't think I've really talked much about Nick, so here is a little info. We met in May of 2008. He has been friends with the girls I moved in with when I moved to Missoula for several years. Long story short, we liked each other, began to date in July of 2008, got engaged in June of 2009, and married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 14, 2009.
Nick works for Montana Rail Link, the local railroad here in Montana. He really likes his job, makes decent money, and has excellent benefits. He is the oldest of 5 children, having four younger sisters. It's kind of funny since I'm the exact opposite-- the youngest of 5 children, having four older brothers. Nick is very mellow and laid back. Kind of the opposite of loud, crazy me. But we seem to be very easy going together. We just work.
I will be done with school next May, working on an internship next summer, and then I will have my bachelor degree in recreation management/resource management. At that point, we may just start a family...
